Chile Studying Elimination of Oil Import Duties, Tercera Reports
Chile’s government is studying whether to eliminate import duties on oil in a bid to reduce fuel prices and improve earnings at state-owned refiner Empresa Nacional del Petroleo, La Tercera reported today, citing sources it didn’t identify.
The government is studying whether to include the measure in a series of tax reforms that President Sebastian Pinera is scheduled to announce this month, the Santiago-based newspaper reported.
