Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei. The benchmark Taiex Index fell 0.5 percent to 7,470.66.
Chipmakers: Inotera Memories Inc. (3474) (3474 TT) slid 7 percent to NT$6.56. Nanya Technology Corp. (2408) (2408 TT) slumped 6.9 percent to NT$2.42. The benchmark price for dynamic random access memory, or DRAM chips, fell 1 percent on April 20 to $0.99 each, the lowest in more than a month, according to DRAMeXchange.
TPK Holding Co. (3673) (3673 TT) lost 3.1 percent to NT$376. Fubon Securities Co. cut the share-price estimate by 19 percent to NT$340 today, keeping the reduce rating, an equivalent of sell. KGI Securities Co. said last week Apple Inc. is likely to use new in-cell technology in upcoming iPhone 5, which could result in fewer orders for touch-panel suppliers TPK.
