Cyprus May Reappoint Central Banker Orphanides, Simerini Says

Cyprus’s president Demetris Christofias is considering reappointing central bank governor Athanasios Orphanides, Simerini reported, citing government spokesman Stefanos Stefanou.

Christofias will look in to the matter this weekend before announcing his final decision next week, the Nicosia-based newspaper reported today. Orphanides’ term ends on April 30.
