Taiwan Stocks: Inotera, Kinsus Interconnect, Nanya Technology

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 9:40 a.m. local time in Taipei.

The benchmark Taiex Index was little changed at 7,602.09.

Qualcomm Inc. suppliers: Unimicron Technology Corp. (3037) (3037 TT) lost 1.3 percent to NT$34.45. Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. (3189) (3189 TT) retreated 1.6 percent to NT$86.70. Qualcomm forecast third-quarter sales and profit that missed some analysts’ estimates. The largest maker of mobile-phone semiconductors can’t get enough supply from its existing manufacturer and is seeking additional output, Chief Executive Officer Paul Jacobs said in an interview.

Inotera Memories Inc. (3474) (3474 TT) slid 4.6 percent to NT$7.56, headed for the lowest close since Feb. 24. The chip maker reported a first-quarter loss of NT$4.45 billion ($150.82 million), compared with a NT$4 billion loss the same period a year earlier.

Nanya Technology Corp. (2408) (2408 TT) slumped by the 7 percent daily limit to NT$2.79, poised for the biggest drop since May 6, 2009. The chipmaker reported a first-quarter loss of NT$10.3 billion, wider than the NT$8.9 billion average estimate by four analysts compiled by Bloomberg.
