Slovak Car Production Seen Rising to Record, Hospodarske Says

The number of cars produced in assembly factories in Slovakia will probably rise to a record 780,000 vehicles in 2012, Hospodarske Noviny reported, citing an estimate of the country’s Car Industry Association.

Carmakers in the country, the units of Volkswagen AG (VOW), Kia Motors Corp. (000270) and PSA Peugeot Citroen (UG), last year produced 639,763 vehicles, the newspaper said citing Jozef Uhrik, the head of the association.
