South Korea Department Store Sales Rose 1.6% in March

Sales at major South Korean department stores rose for a second month as consumer confidence and job market conditions improved.

Outlays at the three biggest chains rose 1.6 percent from a year earlier in March after a 2.9 percent gain in February, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said in a statement today. Discount-store sales gained 3.2 percent, today’s report showed.
