EPA Issues First Air-Pollution Standards for Natural Gas Wells

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued its first regulations for natural-gas drilling, which will reduce smog-forming compounds and pollutants, Gina McCarthy, the assistant administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, said today.

McCarthy said on a conference call that the rules are cost-effective for the industry.
