Japan Display Targets 30% Market Share by March 2016, Kyodo Says

Japan Display Inc., a joint venture between Sony Corp. (6758), Toshiba Corp. (6502) and Hitachi Ltd. (6501), plans to capture top share of the world’s market for small- and mid-size panels in the year ending March 2016, Kyodo News reported, citing the company’s President Shuichi Otsuka.

The company aims to increase its share to 30 percent from 20 percent now by focusing of screens for smartphones, the report said.
