Brazilian Stock Movers: Tecnisa, Gol Linhas, Vale Were Active

The following companies had unusual price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close of trading. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.

The Bovespa Index fell 0.2 percent to 61,954.55.

Tecnisa SA (TCSA3) (TCSA3 BS) gained 0.8 percent to 9.32 reais after earlier losing as much as 1.6 percent. The homebuilder said contracted sales fell 54 percent from a year earlier to 253.2 million reais ($137 million).

Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (GOLL4) (GOLL4 BS) fell 2.5 percent to 10.25 reais, a six-month low. Brazil’s second-largest airline said domestic demand declined 10.1 percent in March from a year earlier, according to a statement today.

Vale SA (VALE5) (VALE5 BS) fell 1.7 percent to 41.24 reais. The world’s largest iron-ore producer retreated as metal prices reached a three-month low.
