Berjaya Says Kuk, Chu Were Directors of Unit Dissolved in 2000

Berjaya Corp., the holding company of Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan, said Kuk Mong Kong and Chu Yen Ling were directors of a unit named Syntax that was dissolved in 2000.

Their role as directors was to advise Berjaya on “proposed provincial lottery projects in China,” according to a statement released today by the Kuala Lumpur-based company.

The company, called Syntax Limited, was incorporated in Hong Kong in October 1992. It was deregistered from the city’s companies registry and dissolved in December 2000, the statement said.

“Since the dissolution of Syntax, Berjaya Corporation Berhad has had no further dealings or association with Madam Kuk Mong Kong or Mr Chu Yen Ling,” the company said.
