Ukraine Spring-Grain Sowing Reaches 2.1 Million Hectares

Ukraine’s farmers planted 2.1 million hectares (5.2 million acres) with early spring grain as of yesterday, or 53 percent of the government’s target, according to the Agriculture Ministry.

Farmers started sowing sugar beet and sunflowers, the Kiev- based ministry said in an e-mailed statement.
