The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index (FBMKLCI) rose 0.3 percent to 1,598.87, snapping a two-day decline. The gauge climbed 0.2 percent this week.
Ebworx Bhd. (EBWX) , a computer-software provider, rose 1.1 percent to 88.5 sen, a record close. Hitachi Ltd. plans to make a buyout offer for its shares at 90 sen each, Ebworx said in a statement. OSK Ventures International Bhd. (OSKV) , which owns 25.4 percent of Ebworx, said it will accept the offer. OSK Ventures gained 2.5 percent to 41.5 sen.
Favelle Favco Bhd. (FFB) , a crane maker, advanced 2.9 percent to 1.41 ringgit, its steepest increase since March 14. The company won orders totaling 102.1 million ringgit ($33 million), it said in a stock-exchange filing.
Gopeng Bhd. (GOP) , an oil-palm planter, jumped 9.7 percent to 79 sen, its largest gain since Aug. 17, 2010. The company proposed a final dividend of 9.8 sen per share, it said in an exchange filing.
Smartag Solutions Bhd. (SMTG) , a provider of radio- frequency identification technology, climbed 2.3 percent to 22.5 sen, the most since March 28. The company won a government contract to implement a mobile digital wallet system, it said in a statement.
