Japan Crude Steel Output May Fall 1.9% Next Quarter

(Corrects start date of quarter in second sentence.)

Japan’s steel output may fall 1.9 percent in the quarter starting April 1, according to a forecast from the trade ministry. Crude steel production may reach 26.1 million metric tons in the quarter starting from April, compared with an estimated 26.6 million tons in the current three months, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said today in a statement.
