Mexico Stocks: Aeroportuario del Pacifico, Pochteca, Pinfra

The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close of trading.

The IPC index rose 0.6 percent to 39,125.35.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB (GAPB MM), the operator of airports in the Pacific and central regions of Mexico, tumbled 3.1 percent to 48.64 pesos. Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB) , the country’s largest mining company, said in a statement that it withdrew a request for authorization to buy Aeroportuario del Pacifico. Grupo Mexico fell 0.3 percent to 40.11 pesos.

Grupo Pochteca SAB (POCHTECB) , the chemical maker formerly known as Dermet de Mexico, gained for the second day, adding 1.9 percent to 2.18 pesos. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were 41 million pesos ($3.2 million) in the first quarter, according to preliminary results sent March 27 to the Mexican stock exchange.

Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB (PINFRA* MM), a Mexican operator of toll highways, rose 0.6 percent to 56.40 pesos. Grupo Financiero BBVA Bancomer SA initiated coverage of the company with the equivalent of a buy rating, citing an “attractive and well balanced portfolio of concessions” and a history of cash-flow generation.
