Large department stores: at least 1,500 sq. meters of floor space for stores outside Tokyo and 3,000 sq. meters or more for stores in Tokyo. Large supermarket stores: at least 1,500 sq. meters of floor space with at least 50 percent of sales classified as "self-service." * Excludes stores open less than one year.
