Australia Beats West Indies in Opening Twenty20 Cricket Match

Australia beat West Indies by eight wickets in the first of two Twenty20 internationals between the teams in the Caribbean.

Shane Watsonhit 69 and Mike Hussey made an unbeaten 59 as Australia scored 153-2 to chase down the West Indies total of 150-7 with 11 balls to spare in St. Lucia. Dan Christian earlier took 3-27 to finish as the game’s best bowler.

The second match in Barbados takes place March 30 before the teams play a best-of-three Test series starting April 7.

The five-match one-day contest ended in a 2-2 tie two days ago as Australia won the series finale.
