Peru Stocks: Alturas, Candente, Buenaventura, Rio Alto

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 3:10 p.m. in Lima.

The Lima General Index (IGBVL) rose 1.7 percent to 23,334.57. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index (MXPECAPD) climbed 1.7 percent to 2,933.17.

Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO) , a Canadian gold miner, jumped 7.1 percent to $4.55 after gold rose in New York, said Eduardo Fernandini, a trader at Lima-based Kallpa Securities SAB.

Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA (BVN PE), the country’s biggest precious-metals miner, advanced 2.8 percent to $40.50. The company seeks to diversify 20 percent of its investment portfolio abroad, daily La Tercera cited Chief Executive Officer Roque Benavides as saying.

Alturas Minerals Corp. (ALT) , a Canadian copper and gold exploration company, gained 9.1 percent to 12 cents after copper advanced the most in four weeks in New York.

Panoro Minerals Ltd. (PML) , a Canadian copper and gold exploration company, rose for the third session in four, adding 2.7 percent to 77 cents.

Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1) (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., advanced 2.5 percent to $41.52.

Refineria la Pampilla SA (RELAPAC1 PE), a unit of Repsol YPF SA known as Relapasa, gained 3.9 percent to 1.06 soles after crude rose in New York.
