South African Equities: BHP Billiton, Richemont, Putprop Active

The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index (JALSH) gained for the first day in four, rising less than 0.1 percent to 33,572.07 at the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.
The following were among the most active equities in the market today. Stock symbols follow company names.
BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) , the world’s biggest resources company, advanced for the first day in three, rising 0.8 percent to 233.45 rand. Copper gained as much as 1.6 percent, rebounding from the lowest level in two weeks.
Cie. Financiere Richemont SA (CFR) , the second-biggest luxury-goods maker slipped for a second day, dropping 1.3 percent to 47.10 rand. The company said it ended its share buy- back program.
Putprop Ltd. (PPR) , which invests in industrial and commercial properties, gained the most in more than a month after saying profit rose 29 percent in the six months through December. The stock climbed 4.8 percent to 6.50 rand.
Top Fix Holdings Ltd. (TFX) , which provides scaffolding and workers for construction projects, fell the most in more than six months, retreating 15 percent to 45 cents. The company said it expects a loss per share of at least 27.4 cents for the six months through December, compared with earnings per share of 5.4 cents a year earlier.
