Rodwell Injury

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell’s chances of playing for England at June’s European Championship suffered another setback after his fifth hamstring injury of the season, the Guardian reported.

The recurring injury could be related to the 21-year-old’s nervous system, the Guardian said, citing Everton assistant coach Steve Round.

Arsenal Target

Arsenal plans to make an offer for Toulouse center-back Aymen Abdennour, who would cost about 5 million pounds ($8 million) to sign, the Sun reported.

Gunners coach Arsene Wenger has trailed the 22-year-old Tunisia international for six months, the Sun said.

Blackburn Interest

Blackburn remains interested in signing former Liverpool midfielder Bolo Zenden even after he rejected a short-term deal, the Daily Mirror reported.

The 35-year-old, who left Sunderland after last season, has also been linked to Doncaster and Leeds, the Mirror said.

Chelsea Exit

Jacob Mellis, who was fired by Chelsea for letting off a smoke grenade at the team’s training ground, could join Burnley, the Daily Mail reported.

Mellis, 21, made one appearance for the Blues, coming on as a substitute in a 2010 Champions League game, the Mail said.
