Shares in YPF SA (YPFD), Argentina’s biggest energy company, jumped 5.5 percent at the start of trading in Buenos Aires.
Shares climbed to 145 pesos after Cabinet Chief Juan Manuel Abal Medina said that the government wasn’t planning a takeover of the company. Abal Medina later retracted those statements in an interview with state-run news agency Telam.
