South Africa Stocks: Cipla Medpro, Datatec Move in Johannesburg

The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index (JALSH) advanced for a third day, gaining 0.2 percent to 34,492.54 as of 10:27 a.m. in Johannesburg, a record on a closing basis.

The following are among the most active equities in the South African market today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Cipla Medpro South Africa Ltd. (CMP) , a generic-drug manufacturer, declined for the first time in three days after saying its anti-retroviral tender business didn’t “materialize to the numbers we expected.” The shares dropped 1.8 percent to 6.65 rand.

Datatec Ltd. (DTC) , a Johannesburg-based computer- services company, gained for a fourth day, adding 0.9 percent to 45.23 rand. The company said earnings for the year through February will be in line with forecasts published during 2011.
