Taiwan Stock Movers: Powertech Industrial, Shin Kong, Wintek

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.

The benchmark Taiex Index fell 1.1 percent to 7,927.55.

Powertech Industrial Co. (3296) (3296 TT) gained 3.8 percent to NT$26.25, the highest close since Feb. 23. The company said February sales jumped 129 percent from a year earlier to NT$293.8 million, according to a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Shin Kong Financial Holding Co. (2888) (2888 TT) dropped 1.5 percent to NT$9.61, the lowest close since Feb. 7. The financial services company’s February sales fell 73 percent from a year earlier to NT$898.7 million, it said in a statement.

Wintek Corp. (2384) (2384 TT) advanced 0.8 percent to NT$25.70. The touch panel maker said February sales jumped 59 percent to NT$9.38 billion, according to a company statement.
