Lindsey Vonn of U.S. Captures Fourth Overall World Cup Skiing Championship

Lindsey Vonn clinched her fourth overall World Cup skiing championship by winning today’s giant slalom race in Are, Sweden.

Vonn’s 52nd career victory gives her an unbeatable 554- points lead over Slovenia’s Tina Maze with five races, worth a maximum 500 points, left in the season.

The victory also moves Vonn, 27, past Phil Mahre for the most overall World Cup titles by an American.
