Robusta Coffee Tenders Reach 63% of NYSE Liffe Certified Stocks

Robusta coffee tendered against the expiring March contract on NYSE Liffe in London has totaled 63 percent of all the exchange’s certified stocks so far.

Tenders totaled 13,218 contracts, or 132,180 metric tons in the first five days of delivery notices, according to data on the exchange’s website. Robusta coffee stockpiles with a valid grading certificate in warehouses monitored by the NYSE Liffe stood at 210,970 tons as of Feb. 20. The exchange will update inventories data tomorrow.

The first notice for the March contract was on March 1, when holders of futures must notify counterparties whether they intend to accept physical delivery. The notice period will run until March 30, when the contract expires.

Robusta coffee for May delivery was up 0.6 percent to $1,966 a ton by 2:57 p.m. in London.
