Mexico Stocks: Ica, OHL Mexico, Minera Frisco Shares Gain

The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 3 p.m. Mexico City time.

The IPC index rose 0.2 percent to 37,548.54.

Homebuilders and construction-related companies led gains, reversing their slump yesterday, after a Wall Street Journal report that the Federal Reserve is discussing a new type of bond-buying program.

Empresas Ica SAB (ICA*) , the country’s biggest construction company, jumped 4.6 percent to 23.39 pesos. Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos (URBI*) SAB, Mexico’s third-largest homebuilder by sales, gained 1.9 percent to 14.37 pesos. OHL Mexico SAB (OHLMEX* MM), the Mexican unit of Spanish construction company Obrascon Huarte Lain SA (OHL), rose 2 percent to 21.95 pesos.

Minera Frisco SAB (MFRISCOA MM), the mining company controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim, rose 3.3 percent to 56.44 pesos. Silver futures gained today in New York.
