The Merval (MERVAL) Index rose 1.4 percent to 2,687.97.
Cia de Transporte de Energia Electrica en Alta Tension Transener SA (TRAN AF) fell 0.9 percent to 1.06 pesos. The operator of Argentina’s national power grid reported a net loss of 68.3 million pesos ($15.7 million) in 2011, compared with income of 23.2 million pesos in 2010, in a statement posted on the Buenos Aires stock exchange.
YPF SA (YPFD) , Argentina’s largest oil company, rose 1.1 percent to 134.50 pesos. YPF appealed an order by Argentina’s securities regulator that deemed its Feb. 23 board meeting “irregular” and “ineffective,” according to a regulatory filing today.
