Polish Stocks: Bank BPH, KGHM Polska Miedz Active in Warsaw

Poland’s WIG20 Index declined 1.5 percent to 2,249.56 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Warsaw, down for a second day.

The following were among the most active stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Bank BPH SA (BPH) rose 1.8 percent to 40.4 zloty, gaining for the first time in seven days, after the Polish lending unit of General Electric Co. posted a profit for 2011.

KGHM Polska Miedz SA (KGH) lost 3.6 percent to 141.3 zloty, the lowest level in almost two weeks, after Poland’s sole copper producer said it needs to make at least one acquisition to achieve its 2018 production target. The metal declined for a third day on speculation global growth is slowing.
