New Orleans Saints Coach and General Manager Apologize for Bounty System

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and General Manager Mickey Loomis apologized today for the bounty system under which players were paid bonuses to injure members of opposing teams.

“We acknowledge that the violations disclosed by the NFL during their investigation of our club happened under our watch,” Payton and Loomis said in a joint statement released by the team. “We take full responsibility.”
