Mine Safety Agency Says Efforts Were ‘Compromised’ at Massey Pit

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration said today in a report that an internal review of its work at Massey Energy Co,’s Upper Big Branch mine found “several” instances where enforcement efforts were “compromised.”

The agency commented today in a report on its website. An explosion at Upper Big Branch in West Virginia in April 2010 killed 29 miners.
