Singapore Stocks: Jardine Matheson, Orchard Parade, Q&M Dental

Singapore’s Straits Times Index (FSSTI) fell 0.1 percent to 2,991.80 at the close. Two shares dropped for each that rose in the 30-member gauge.

The following were among the most active shares in the market. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names.

Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd. (JM) , which owns car distributors and real estate in Asia, advanced 3 percent to $51.90. The company said full-year net income increased 12 percent to $3.45 billion.

Jardine Strategic Holdings Ltd. (JS) , the Jardine Matheson unit that owns drugstores, supermarkets and hotels in Asia, rose 1.6 percent to $31. The company said full-year profit rose 12 percent to $3.94 billion.

Orchard Parade Holdings Ltd. (OPH) increased 3.6 percent to S$1.73 after the hotel operator said it’s still in preliminary discussions with parent Far East Organization the possible injection of some of the company’s assets into a real estate investment trust.

Q&M Dental Group Singapore Ltd. (QNM) , an operator of dental clinics, added 1.3 percent to 76.5 Singapore cents after proposing a one-for-two stock split to boost trading liquidity and broaden its shareholder base.
