The IPC index fell 0.4 percent to 38,155.27.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste SAB (ASURB MM), the operator of airports in southern Mexico, rose 1.8 percent to 91.02 pesos. Forecasts for an expansion in passenger traffic in a report due tomorrow are adding to optimism after Asur last month reported fourth-quarter profit that soared 52 percent to 422.3 million pesos ($32.9 million), said Pablo Duarte de Leon, an analyst with Corp. Actinver SAB in Mexico City.
Wal-Mart de Mexico SAB (WALMEXV MM) fell 0.8 percent to 41.42 pesos. Latin America’s largest retailer had its recommendation cut to “hold” from “buy” at Banco Santander SA by analyst Joaquin Ley, according to an e-mailed research note dated today.
