BNP Paribas Ukraine Unit Increases Capital Through Share Issue

BNP Paribas SA (BNP)’s Ukrainian unit said it increased its statutory capital by 1.36 billion hryvnia ($170 million) through a private share placement.

The capital of PAT UkrSibbank (528570Q) was increased to 8.87 billion hryvnia, the bank said in an e-mailed statement today. BNP Paribas, which owns 84.99 percent of UkrSibbank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which owns 15 percent, bought shares issued on Feb. 28 in proportion to their stakes, the bank said.
