Automakers’ U.S. February Incentives Fell 4.7%, Autodata Says

Automakers in the U.S. trimmed spending on incentives in February by 4.7 percent to an average of $2,457 per vehicle, according to Autodata Corp.

General Motors Co. (GM) reduced spending on discounts and promotions by 17 percent last month to $3,116 per vehicle, Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey-based Autodata said in an e-mailed statement. Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) cut incentives by 20 percent to $1,595, Autodata said.

Ford Motor Co. (F), Honda Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC increased incentives by less than 10 percent from a year earlier, according to Autodata.
