Polish Shale-Gas Estimates May Be Below U.S. Tally, PAP Reports

Polish estimates of shale-gas reserves, to be released by the Warsaw-based Geological Institute on March 21, will probably be lower than those in a U.S. report, PAP newswire reported today, citing comments by Deputy Environment Minister Piotr Wozniak in parliament.

The U.S. Department of Energy said in April that there may be 5.2 trillion cubic meters (187 trillion cubic feet) of “technically recoverable” shale gas in Poland.
