French Telecom Regulator Says Iliad Is Complying With Requests

France’s telecommunications regulator head Jean-Ludovic Silicani said Iliad SA (ILD)’s mobile- phone coverage under its Free brand is complying with the watchdog’s request.

“Our second check confirms that Free is still covering a bit more than 27 percent of the population,” Silicani said at a parliamentary hearing at the National Assembly in Paris today.

Free, which started its mobile-phone service in France in January, may have lured as much as 1.5 million to 2 million subscribers, Silicani said.
