Czech Stocks: CEZ, New World Resources Move in Prague Trading

The Czech Republic’s PX (PX) stock index advanced a second day, adding 0.2 percent to 1,003.7 by the close in Prague.

The following were among the most active equities on the Prague Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.

CEZ AS (CEZ) , the country’s biggest power utility, rose 1.5 percent to 829 koruna. Electricity for next-year delivery in Germany, where CEZ exports part of its output, gained for a fifth day, rising 0.7 percent to 54.35 euros per megawatt-hour. CEZ will report its full-year earnings and fourth-quarter earnings tomorrow.

New World Resources Plc (NWR) , the biggest Czech coking- coal producer, added 2 percent to 157 koruna, its third day of gains. Europe’s benchmark coal futures contracts rose to $116.05 a metric ton in the Netherlands, the highest price in almost three weeks.
