U.K. Economy Grew 0.5% in Fourth Quarter, Missing Median Estimate of 0.6%

Thailand Stocks: Khon Kaen, Thai Airways, Tipco, Sri Trang Agro

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Bangkok.

The SET Index (SET) fell 1 percent to 1,135.04, the biggest loss in two weeks.

Khon Kaen Sugar Industry Pcl (KSL) , a sugar producer, climbed 1.4 percent to 14.40 baht, the highest close since Feb. 3. Thai sugar output and exports may climb to records for a second year this season, according to the Office of the Cane & Sugar Board.

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA) , Thailand’s biggest rubber producer, dropped 2.8 percent to 21 baht, the largest decline since Jan. 30. Net income in 2011 fell 66 percent to 1.31 billion baht ($43 million).

Thai Airways International Pcl (THAI) , the country’s largest carrier, dropped 3.9 percent to 24.50 baht, the steepest decline since Dec. 14. The company reported its biggest annual loss in three years after costs related to foreign-currency debt and fuel surged. The loss in 2011 was 10.2 billion baht, compared with net income of 14.7 billion baht in 2010, the company said in a filing.

Tipco Foods Pcl (TIPCO) , a producer of fruit juices and other beverages, surged 22 percent to 5.20 baht, the most since January 2001. Profit in 2011 more than doubled to 343.6 million baht.
