U.K. Sale of RBS Shares to Take Several Years, Hester Tells BBC

Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc Chief Executive Officer Stephen Hester said the U.K. government’s sale of shares in the bank will take “quite a few years’’ and take place in ‘‘several distinct bites.’’

‘‘I believe that RBS will recover, we’re well on that route, and there will in time be good opportunities for the government to sell shares,’’ Hester told the British Broadcasting Corp.’s ‘‘Marr’’ program.
