US Airways to Hire 165 Attendants on Attrition, New Aircraft

US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) plans to hire 165 flight attendants this year to cover attrition and staffing needs for new aircraft.

Twelve Airbus SAS A321s being added to the Tempe, Arizona-based carrier’s fleet this year require one more attendant than the Boeing Co. (BA) 737s they will replace, US Airways said today in an employee newsletter. Additions also will cover attrition and an expected increase in seasonal flying. The airline now has more than 6,700 attendants.
