Turkish Stocks: Dogan, Ford Otomotiv, Netas, OMV Petrol Ofisi

Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 Index (XU100) fell 0.7 percent to 60,856.43 at the close in Istanbul, retreating for a second day.

The following stocks are active. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (DOHOL TI), a group of companies with interests in media and energy, added 2.6 percent to 78 kurus after saying it is focusing on energy and retail following the completion of the sale of some of its media assets under plans started in 2010.

Dogan Yayin Holding AS (DYHOL) , Dogan’s media unit, rose 2.8 percent to 74 kurus, its highest in more than six months.

Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (FROTO) , Ford Motor Co.’s production unit in Turkey, slumped 2.4 percent to 16.65 liras, its biggest loss this month. Fourth-quarter profit dropped 21 percent from the same period a year earlier, missing estimates, the company reported after the close yesterday.

Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (NETAS) , a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, surged 4.7 percent to 145.50 liras, its highest in four months, after saying it will hold exclusive talks with Doga Sehircilik Ic & Dis Ticaret AS to sell 94,493 square meters of property in Istanbul.

OMV Petrol Ofisi AS (PTOFS TI), Turkey’s biggest fuel retailer, surged as much as 13 percent before closing up 4 percent at 4.90 liras, the highest since August. Owner OMV AG, central Europe’s biggest oil company, said it discovered what may be its biggest-ever gas find in a well in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania.
