Chelsea Ties 1-1 With Birmingham in F.A. Cup Fifth-Round Match

Chelsea rallied to tie Birmingham 1- 1 in the fifth round of English soccer’s F.A. Cup.

Daniel Sturridge scored in the 62nd minute to give Chelsea the home draw at Stamford Bridge. David Murphy scored in the first half for Birmingham while goalkeeper Colin Doyle saved Juan Mata’s penalty kick.

Birmingham, which plays in the second-tier Championship, will host a replay of the game with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals.

Four more fifth-round games will be played today, including the all-Premier League matchup of Sunderland and Arsenal.
