Blackhawks Defeat Rangers 4-2 to End Nine-Game Losing Streak in NHL

The Chicago Blackhawks ended a nine- game losing streak in the National Hockey League with a 4-2 win against the Eastern Conference-leading New York Rangers.

Jonathan Toews, Nick Leddy, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa gave the Blackhawks a 4-0 lead 10 minutes into the first period last night at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Marc Staal scored in the second period and Carl Hagelin had a goal in the third for the Rangers.

Corey Crawford had 22 saves for the Blackhawks and Martin Biron recorded 18 saves for the Rangers.

New York (37-14-5) has 79 points, one fewer than the Detroit Red Wings (39-17-2), who have the best record in the league. Chicago (30-21-7) is sixth in the Western Conference with 67 points.
