Hungary’s Martonyi May Replace President Schmitt, Nepszava Says

Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi may succeed President Pal Schmitt, who is embroiled in a plagiarism case, Nepszava reported, citing unidentified people familiar with the matter.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban may have spoken about “letting Schmitt go” during a meeting of the ruling Fidesz party’s parliamentary group last week, according to the Budapest-based newspaper.
