Athens Street Fixtures Damage Exceeded 1 Million Euros, ANA Says

Rioting in Athens against austerity measures passed by the Greek parliament on Feb. 12 caused more than 1 million euros ($1.3 million) of damage to street fixtures, Athens News Agency reported, citing Andreas Varelis, the deputy mayor for sanitation

Damage included smashed sidewalks, railings, traffic lights and street lights, the state-run news agency said.
