World Bank Lends $200 Million for Lebanon Water Supply, NNA Says

The World Bank agreed to lend $200 million loan for a project to divert water to Beirut from a river in southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

The project would supply about 1.7 million residents of the capital with water from the Awwali River, at a total cost of $370 million, the state agency reported, citing Energy Minister Gebran Bassil.
