Gambian President Yahya Jammeh appointed two ministers and a deputy minister to his Cabinet, leaving 10 posts still to be filled.
Fatou Lamin Faye retains her portfolio as minister of basic and secondary education, while Fatou Gaye was named minister of forestry and the environment to replace Jato Sillah, according to a government statement from the capital, Banjul, that was broadcast on national TV. Teneng Mba Jaiteh will remain as deputy minister of petroleum, according to the statement.
Jammeh, who was sworn into office on Jan. 19, has appointed 11 of the 21 ministerial positions in his Cabinet.
