Shanghai will start publishing data on pollutants smaller than 2.5 micrometers in diameter in June, China News Service said today, citing Sun Jian, a deputy director at the municipal environmental protection bureau.
The municipality plans to implement the China V grade for car exhaust as early as next year to control emissions of small particulates, according to the report. China’s motor fuel pollution standards are similar to the European Union’s; China V gasoline is similar to Euro V.
