Egypt’s benchmark EGX30 Index gained for the first time in three days, increasing 1 percent to 4,583.89 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo.

EFG-Hermes Holding SAE (HRHO EY) rose for the first time in three days, advancing as much as 2.2 percent to 11.25 Egyptian pounds before closing at 11.02 pounds. No charges have been filed against Yasser El Mallawany, one of Egypt’s biggest publicly traded investment bank’s two chief executive officers, who was banned from leaving the country.
Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMGH EY) retreated 2.3 percent, the most in more than two weeks, to 3.89 pounds. Hisham Talaat Moustafa, former chairman of Egypt’s biggest publicly traded property developer, had a 15-year sentence affirmed by a Cairo appeals court for his role in the murder of Lebanese pop singer Suzanne Tamim, Middle East News Agency reported yesterday.
