Bernanke Says Fed Takes ‘Balanced Approach’ to Jobs, Inflation

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said the central bank takes a “balanced approach” to its dual mandate from Congress and doesn’t favor maximum employment over price stability.

He spoke in response to questions today during a hearing before the Senate Budget Committee in Washington.
