Egypt’s benchmark EGX30 Index (EGX30) lost 1 percent to 4,538.65 at the 2:30 p.m. close in Cairo.

EFG-Hermes Holding SAE (HRHO) dropped 4.5 percent, the most since Nov. 22, to 11.01 Egyptian pounds. The biggest publicly-traded Arab investment bank said Chief Executive Officer Yasser El Mallawany was banned from traveling. It didn’t provide further details.
Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Co. (SKPC) increased as much as 1.9 percent to 13.65 pounds before closing at 13.43 pounds. The Egyptian chemicals manufacturer said full-year profit increased 8.4 percent to 889.9 million pounds ($148 million).
